The Maize Lions Club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at the Pizza Hut
Italian Bistro at 3960 N Maize Road, in Maize, KS.  Meet to eat and socialize at 6:30 PM.  
Meeting begins at 7:00. Guests are

Once again the Maize Lions Club will partner with the Maize Congregational
Church, MHS Band Boosters, MHS German Club and Maize American Legion to
sell BLACK CAT fireworks this July 4th holiday.  Sales begin June 27th.  The tent
will be located on Maize Road, just south of the new Goodwill store in Maize.  NO
SALES TAX IS CHARGED ON FIREWORKS PURCHASED FROM LIONS CLUBS,
SAVING YOU 6.3% ON PURCHASES.  THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL 5%
DISCOUNT FOR MILITARY AND PUBLIC SAFETY PERSONNEL (WITH
IDENTIFICATION).

Proceeds from the fireworks sales are used to fund special projects in the local
community, help for the needy and visually impaired, Caring Hearts, Fall
Festival, MHS Senior Day breakfast, our Flat Project, and many more
.

Bring used cell phones, eyeglasses and hearing aids to the fireworks tent for
recycling to underprivileged individuals.


An ongoing project of our club is to collect used cell phones (in any condition) to
be turned into minutes on calling cards to be distributed to our armed services
personnel.  The collection point in Maize is the Goodwill store on Maize Road.  
Be sure to tell them the phones are for the Maize Lions Club project.
